To cross Spitsbergen on skis is going to be our biggest challenge so far in life. So, is it the challenge itself that drives us? We want to find out where our limits are, and we want to find out if we can push those limits. Can we handle close contact with polar bears? How strong are we? How far is 500 km? What does “bad weather” in the arctic feel like? What do words like “tired”, “far”, “hungry”, and “cold” really mean? What will these situations do to our friendship? Will we feel any different when it is all over and done, and will we change as individuals?
The challenge itself is part of the reason why we want to move our lives outdoor for a while. Most of all, we are doing this trip to feel how it is to live “right here and now”. The three of us have a dream of an extended journey where everyday life will be out in the wilderness. We don’t want to live our lives behind closed doors; we want to open doors and take a big step into freedom and adventure. We want to leave behind disturbing factors that exist in normal life, such as noise, mobile phones, traffic, crowds and all the expectations of society etc. We want to focus on life and we want to live for real. We want to unite with nature, feel the pureness and simplicity of what we consider the beauty of life. We are looking for perfect moments.
